With MME, I'm able to record the guitar while monitoring the drum track but a) the 30ms latency makes it pretty much impossible, and b) in any case it only records/plays on the left channel, regardless of how I adjust the input/output settings on the track itself as well as in Channel Mapping. Oh, and not sure if it's supposed to be this way, but I notice that MME gives me two options under Audio Hardware: one for input and one for output, while WASAPI only gives me one. Obviously I have a lot to learn about the basics of the process, but in all my searching through Adobe's how-to pages and YouTube tutorials, I haven't been able to get the setup to work properly. I've tried a variety of input/output settings on the two tracks, but so far have had no luck. Interestingly, even though it says "Not working," I was able to record a sample, but thus far have been unable to do so while monitoring the drum track. To answer your question, yes, it does work in MME (I have no ASIO option), but the lowest latency is 30ms, inadequate for recording against the drum track that's already on there. Once you've fired up Guitar Rig 5, you'll notice ASIO4ALL come to life in your System Tray. Thanks for your reply. Step 3 - Fire up Guitar Rig 5 and configure ASIO4ALL

Step 2 - Download and install Guitar Rig 5
GUITAR RIG 5 ROCKSMITH CABLE NO SOUND DRIVER
Once you've downloaded and installed (and said yes to the gazillion driver install requests) there's no shortcut to the application.ĪSIO4ALL requires an application to be running that talks to it, and then the ASIO4ALL menu appears in the system tray.Īlso - make sure any application that uses your soundcard (my culprits were Chrome and my Webcam app) are closed before you use ASIO4ALL as it requires exclusive use of your output device. I've had this issue with using a 1/4" to 3.5mm cable in the past.Īs always, there's always a way to fix things on Win7.ĪSIO4ALL is a (free) driver that takes over some parts of your in / out audio from your soundcard driver. In addition to receiving note detection and real-time feedback you can also take advantage of our effects modeling and virtual tones to sound like your favorite artists as you.
I started strumming away and noticed a good 1 second of delay between my guitar and what was coming out the speakers. If you have an electric guitar, bass, or acoustic-electric with a 1/4' jack you can also use the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable to directly connect to your platform of choice. Then you go into your sound properties in Control Panel, select the rocksmith device, bump up the level so it's a bit louder and enable "listen to this device".Īnd then you (might) start getting mad (depending on your soundcard). When you first plug in the cable (Win7) it's automatically recognised. In ASIO I can seem to finally get sound from the metronome in my headphones.
Are you using an audio interface at all Im using ASIO and the Rocksmith Real Tone Cable. Well, after some stuffing about, I'm there :) Then in the ASIO driver options in Guitar Rig 5 enable advanced settings and deselect input on headphones and then select input from the Rocksmith cable.
GUITAR RIG 5 ROCKSMITH CABLE NO SOUND SOFTWARE
My purpose for this cable was to simply be able to plug my guitar into my PC, fire up some effects software with some degree of recording capability and also bang my headphones on so I can jam away as loud as I want and not annoy the neighbours. You can also purchase the cable with the Rocksmith game which is available for PC, XBox and PS3. The cable runs for all of $38 at JB HiFi and is available at pretty much all decent video games stores.
